Enrollment terms and privacy notice
Professional Certificate in Missing Persons Investigation and Search (MP-Tracker™ Method). Please read these terms before you pay.
If anything is unclear, write to info@idef.institute before enrolling.
1. Who provides the program
The program is provided by Instituto Delitológico de Ciencias Forenses y Periciales IDEF LLC (EIN 32-0701556), referred to here as “IDEF.” Contact: info@idef.institute, telephone +1 (307) 381-5390 (United States) and +56 2 3385 7272 (Chile), WhatsApp +56 9 3650 7229.
2. The program
150 academic hours in four modules, studied online at your own pace. The usual length is 3 to 6 months; exceptionally, up to 12 months for documented work, medical or family reasons.
The online classroom, readings, protocols, assignments and exams are in English. The video lessons were recorded in Spanish and have English subtitles. The MP-Tracker platform's screens are in Spanish, with an English quick guide in the course.
3. Tuition and payment
- One payment of $540 (US dollars) by card or PayPal, or three installments of $180 by card.
- Direct payment of $486 by bank transfer (United States or Chile) or Western Union; ask for the details by email.
- With installments, you pay each one with the same link, usually one a month. The first opens Modules 1 and 2, the second Module 3 and the third Module 4.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe, and PayPal payments by PayPal. IDEF does not receive or store your card details.
- There is no enrollment fee. Tuition includes full access to the online classroom and the certificate.
4. Access
Once your payment is confirmed, your access to the online classroom is set up within one business day. Please also email your supporting documents (identity document and qualification, transcript or proof of experience) to info@idef.institute. Your account is personal: do not share it.
5. Assessment and certificate
Each assignment states how it is graded; the passing score is 70%, with up to two attempts. The certificate is issued by IDEF LLC once you have passed the program and all tuition is paid.
It is a professional, non-degree certificate. It documents your training in the method; it does not by itself make you a court-appointed expert, license you as an investigator or give you any official authority. Its recognition for professional purposes depends on the rules of each country. It can be apostilled under the Hague Apostille Convention; the apostille authenticates the signature on the certificate and does not by itself grant official recognition.
6. Use of the materials and practice cases
The course materials are IDEF's intellectual property. You may use them for your own training; do not copy, share or resell them. You may apply what you learn in your professional work, citing IDEF as the source of the method; presenting yourself as an MP-Tracker expert requires the MP-Tracker Expert Certification.
In the course's practice cases you work with fictitious data: do not enter data about real people in a practice case. The classification you learn is a working hypothesis for review by a competent professional; it is not an accusation or a proven fact, and it does not replace the report of a disappearance to the authorities.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If you have any questions about cancelling your enrollment or about refunds, write to info@idef.institute before you pay and we will answer you in writing. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country of residence.
8. Changes
IDEF may update these terms. The version published when you enroll applies to your enrollment. IDEF may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
